When I was a teacher, all two years, I was always told to write down all of the funny things my students say or do. Well, I never did. Who had time?? Well, now as I sit here with both boys asleep and Doug at a movie with a friend, I'm thinking about all of the funny things Douglas does and says. Love ya, James. Douglas is just at "that age" where he cracks me up with the smallest things. For example: today the friendly lady at the pizza joint gave him a big, green/verde balloon. Everything is so descriptive these days-teachable moments, right. Later this evening back at home, the oh so magnificant balloon rose to the ceiling. No big deal, right, until Douglas realized it was missing. So he attempts to pull me over, saying, "peas, peas" translated-"please, please". Me, being the teacher/mother... asked him how he could get it. So what does he do- goes to the bathroom, gets his new big boy potty, which is a fancy dancy one that serves 2 purposes- potty and step stool for washing hands- and puts it underneath the balloon. Of course the measurements don't quite match up as he climbs up, balances himself, and stretches both arms up in the air. He's all but 2 or so feet short of the oh so magnificant balloon. I couldn't help but grab it for him, bounce it off of his head, and think, "He's brilliant!!"
