Watching the boys learn new things is one of my many highlights each and every day. I feel like we're in this phase where Douglas says a new word every, oh, let's say minute. And part of me loves the fact that I am the sole person who understands and can translate his sentences. I guess it's a little pride thing, although it will be nice when total communication is mastered. His rendition of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" is to die for. I wish I could share the video, but that would require some updates to our computer- not a big talent of mine- so as soon as it's ready you'll get a good laugh. He also does a version of "Ring Around the Rosie". Most recently it's "...pocket full of Aubreys, Ashley, Ashley, we all fall down." For those not understanding- my sister, Mandi, has two little girls, and of course their names are Ashley and Aubrey. Another new thing is Douglas now knows that strawberries grow on the ground and not in the trees. Notice in the one picture he's looking in the tree for the scrumptious little things. So if you're an avid Jeffrey Family Blog reader you may wonder, after seeing James chow down on the rhubarb and Douglas looking for strawberries, if Molly has baked a strawberry rhubarb pie. The answer is: not yet, but it crosses my mind every day. Hiding from the camera is something else Douglas has learned. I'm not sure if it's because mommy chases after him when he does it, or if it's because he's getting camera shy. I'm not betting on the latter!! And then one final learning experience is with James. He now has the ability to go anywhere his little heart desires and those quick little legs will go. It's the low army crawl or the "I'll attempt to get anywhere my brother is" crawl. I love my life!!
